Server Information
What hardware does Infopage's Webspace run on? The standard configuration for
our
Unix Servers are:
NT Servers are:
These Computers lines are dedicated to our web-servers, nothing else. They are all yours to serve your pages and applications! This is our advantage! Dedicated leased line Web service. The result is an above-average link putting your company '1 hop off the backbone'. We are constantly upgrading our servers as necessary to sustain low system loads at all times. We have clients from around the world claiming a faster HTTP server link than what is normally available to them on the Web.
Why not use the mondo machines, like a Digital, HP, or Sun?(no copyright or legal infringement intended) Well, first of all let's not start a big war on who has the best hardware. Our philosophy is simple - by limiting the number of customers per server and spreading you out, fewer people are affected when a specific system or service goes down and traffic averages out nicely. Sure, the big boxes are nice, but lots of little boxes handle things pretty well, also.
What software & CGI scripts are available for referencing? First of all, the Infopage offers the ability for each customer to run any properly setup CGI scripts or programs they want (each account contains its own CGIBIN directory). For those CGI Scripts requiring use of the root CGI-BIN, a company must request the setup of such scripts by contacting support@infopg.com. We must consider the server demand & overhead associated with the particular script, and monitor its proper setup so it doesn't crash our server! See the NT or BSDI pages for the specific CGIs available.
